Patrick Campbell, DVM, brings a strong clinical foundation and a lifelong connection to veterinary medicine to the MiDOG team. His experience spans general practice, emergency and ICU settings, community veterinary service, and patient-centered care, giving him a practical understanding of the diagnostic challenges clinicians face every day.
At MiDOG, Dr. Campbell supports veterinary consultations, helping clinicians better understand MiDOG results and apply microbial insights to complex patient cases.
A Clinical Voice for Complex Cases
Dr. Campbell’s connection to veterinary medicine began early. He started as a veterinary assistant in his teenage years and later worked as a veterinary technician while completing his bachelor’s degree in animal science at Colorado State University.
He went on to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. During his time there, he served Indigenous communities through the Student Initiative for Reservation Veterinary Services and gained hands-on experience in emergency and ICU environments.
That combination of technical training, clinical experience, and community-centered care shapes the way Dr. Campbell approaches veterinary diagnostics today.
Supporting Veterinarians Through MiDOG Results
MiDOG reports can provide a deeper view of the microbial picture behind a case, including organisms that may be difficult to detect through conventional workflows. Dr. Campbell helps veterinary teams interpret those findings in the context of the patient, sample type, clinical signs, history, and treatment considerations.
His role includes supporting clinicians as they review MiDOG results, consider microbial findings, and determine how those insights may fit into the broader diagnostic and treatment conversation.

Outside of work, Dr. Campbell enjoys hiking, running, bouldering, exploring new food spots, reading, and searching for the perfect French pastry.
